Must Have
- Provide essential product support for existing elevator components and electrical systems.
- Play a pivotal role in New Product Introduction and Product Support.
- Evaluate opportunities and integrate new component designs into existing systems.
- Ensure projects meet agreed-upon cost and schedule commitments.
- Work with global and regional, multi-functional teams.
- Conduct needs analysis, functional allocation, cost-benefit analysis, architecture development, trade-off analysis, and risk assessment.
- Lead and perform Electrical Qualification Testing for EE projects/products.
- Prepare or support system-level design failure mode and effects analyses.
- Verify requirements and design using modeling, simulation, and testing.
- Read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, and building layouts.
- Analyze complex problems to identify root cause issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Collaborate across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel.
- Integrate, validate, verify, and troubleshoot pre-production systems and workflows.
- Support strategic plans, roadmaps, engineering tasks, and testing for electrical systems, services, and features within the Otis product framework.
- Perform PCB updates.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and 4 years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of power distribution, protection, and control systems.
- Experience with North America electrical codes and standards.
- Understanding of power components, distribution and protection, controls theory and application.
- Electrical engineering background with wiring diagrams, system analysis, motor, and control applications.
- Experience with ECAD tools such as Cadence, AutoCAD, E3, Creo.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to take abstract ideas and formulate or support plans to create product requirements.
- Hands-on lab experience with electrical architecture, embedded software designs and test equipment.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work individually and in cross functional teams.
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
- Solid written and verbal communications skills.
Good to Have
- Experience working with suppliers/3rd parties, with national, local code and enforcement agencies (UL, CSA, ASME, NFPA, TSSA, NEC).
- Elevator systems knowledge.

Summary:
This role is all about providing essential product support for a range of existing elevator components and electrical systems. The Electrical Engineer will be playing a pivotal role in New Product Introduction and Product Support by evaluating opportunities for improvement and integrating new component designs into existing systems. While ensuring adherence to agreed-upon cost and schedule commitments, you'll be at the forefront of electrical system integration, contributing to the development of cutting-edge products that meet high-quality standards and performance goals.
Duties:
- New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Support

Requirements:
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of power distribution, protection, and control systems
- Experience with North America electrical codes and standards
- Understanding of power components, distribution and protection, controls theory and application
- Electrical engineering background with wiring diagrams, system analysis, motor, and control applications
- Experience working with suppliers/3rd parties, with national, local code and enforcement agencies. i.e. UL, CSA, ASME, NFPA, TSSA, NEC preferred
- Experience with ECAD tools such as Cadence, AutoCAD, E3, Creo
- Experience working across disciplines with mechanical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field personnel
- Understanding of PCB assembly and other manufacturing processes
- Experience with test and measurement equipment
- Ability to take abstract ideas and formulate or support plans to create product requirements within existing eco-system constraints, timing pressures and customer expectations to identify a solution that achieves quality objectives
- Hands-on lab experience with electrical architecture, embedded software designs and test equipment to support test, integration, and troubleshooting
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work individually and with and in cross functional teams in a matrix organization to meet customer commitment. Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
- Solid written and verbal communications skills
- Elevator systems knowledge is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
